Privacy policy

This policy explains how Flex Education Ltd ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit this website, join our mailing list or contact us. We are the data controller for that information.

The Mobilabuddy app has its own privacy policy, which explains what the app records and why. You can read it in the app and at mobilabuddy.com/privacy.

What we collect

When you join the mailing list. We keep your email address and the date you joined. We store it on our own website server. We do not pass it to a mailing list company.

When you email us. We keep your name, email address and anything you choose to tell us, so that we can reply.

When you browse the site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you asked for. We use these to keep the site running and secure.

This site has no accounts and no advertising or analytics tracking.

Cookies and storage

The site sets two strictly necessary cookies that keep it secure: a session cookie and a security token. They hold no information about who you are and expire when you close your browser or after two hours.

The site also saves your display settings, and the Time and Shinies counters, in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Fonts

The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. To do this, your browser sends your IP address to Google. Google's privacy policy explains how they handle it.

Why we use your information

• To email you news about Mobilabuddy and Flex Education, such as when the app launches. We rely on your consent, which you give by joining the list.
• To reply to you when you contact us. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
• To keep the website working and secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe service.

We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run the site and our email, such as our hosting and email providers. They may only use it to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your place on the mailing list until you ask to leave. We keep emails for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and for no more than two years after our last contact unless there is an ongoing reason to keep them. Server logs are kept for no more than 30 days.

Leaving the mailing list

You can leave at any time. Email [email protected] and we will remove your address. Every email we send will also include a way to leave.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To do any of these, email [email protected].

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
